Work Place Challenges: Harassment
Nearly one-third of the 90,000 charges of discrimination received by the EEOC last year sited workplace harassment (hostile environment) as the cause. The June 2016, EEOC’s Task Force Report on Harassment, said these complaints ranged from sexual harassment, to racial and ethnic harassment. While the Task Force called this form of harassment “understudied,” the report notes that an alarmingly high number of workers—perhaps up to 60 percent—have experienced race or ethnicity-based harassment at the workplace.
Why, you ask, is this still happening in today’s modern workplace? The answer is very simple. Most people do not perceive their own conduct as harassing and discriminatory, but are quick to assign those labels to others’ conduct. And even with all of today’s training, managers assume that anti-harassment training does not apply to them and mentally check out.
This on-demand webinar drills down to the everyday realities of the manager’s role and responsibilities. Using plain talk and sometimes startling truths, this 60-minute webinar brings the everyday workplace situations to life. Be sure to stay tuned through the end as Carol and her live webinar participants dig deep to find the answers to the question “Is there a Problem?” You’ll be amazed at what you’ll learn. More importantly, it just may be the Harassment Prevention webinar that prevents YOU from becoming the next EEOC complaint statistic.
